HCL Technologies

In 2018, Actian Corporation was purchased by HCL Technologies and Sumeru Equity Partners, which is documented in this press release.

While it might seem unusual for such a large company to purchase a smaller one and then leave it running independently, this web post may help explain this in better detail than I could.

In a nutshell, we do not expect any major limitations in our current arrangements with Actian at this time. We do expect the larger organizations to start impacting the product and marketing aspects, though, starting with the name change from PSQL to Zen, and moving into a new licensing technology in the near future. Other changes may certainly be coming as well, but only time will tell for sure.
