Btrieve 6.15 Product Information
Important Note: Pervasive Software discontinued selling the Btrieve 6.15 product on June 30, 1999, including both new server licenses and user count upgrades. The product became completely unsupported by Pervasive Software on September 1,1999.
Goldstar Software will continue to provide services for and to support this product release for as long as we can, and will sell licenses only while we still have them in stock. Of course, we do urge all Btrieve 6.15 users to begin migration plans to Pervasive PSQL v9.
Btrieve 6.15 has been a mainstay in the database world for many years by providing extremely reliable and high-performance navigational database access, and it has been wildly successful for applications of all kinds. Although the newer database engines are fully backward compatible with the Btrieve 6.15 database, some application vendors have not yet updated their internal knowledge or support structure to support the newer products.
If you have such an application, we strongly urge you to ask the developer to test their software and certify it for the newer engines, such as Pervasive.SQL V8 or Pervasive PSQL v9,, as this will allow you to remain current with the database engine itself.
If you must still use Btrieve 6.15, we still have a few engines in stock, so check out our price lists. If you can upgrade to Pervasive PSQL v9, check out that price list here.
Additionally, Goldstar Software can provide limited support for these older database engines to our customers. Of course, if any bugs are identified in the engines they cannot be fixed, but we can at least help to determine if a problem can be fixed in its current environment or if an upgrade to a current version is in order. |
