Application Support for StarShip
The StarShip application from V-Technologies LLC was originally released with a license for the Btrieve 6.15 Workstation Engine. However, it has been successfully tested and is supported on the following platforms:
Users who are considering an upgrade from the older Btrieve 6.15 will likely see performance and stability gains, especially when running newer operating systems. You may wish to contact V-Technologies to inform them of your intention to upgrade before purchasing the upgrade. Pricing information for PSQLv10 licenses can be found here.
If you have integrated StarShip with another application, please check with the vendor to verify that the other application does not use Pervasive Software for a database engine. Other Pervasive applications (like that use with PeachTree Accounting and some other products from Sage Software) may require a specific database version to keep functioning properly, or may make support for the other applications more difficult. The MAS200 application uses ProvideX database, and is NOT impacted by a StarShip database upgrade.
Special Notes:
- The StarShip application ships with the Btrieve 6.15 Workstation Engine. When upgrading, you must manually remove this engine by finding the following DLL's and removing them: WBTRV32.DLL, WBTRCALL.DLL, WBTICOMM.DLL, W32BTICM.DLL, WBTR32.EXE, W32MKDE.EXE, and W32MKSET.EXE. Other Btrieve-related DLL's may exist in the same location and should also removed. (If in doubt, right-click/Properties on the DLL and check the vendor name.) These files have been found in the C:\Program Files\V-Technologies\StarW directory, but they can also be found in other locations on some systems.
If you are a software vendor and would like to add, remove, or modify your information on these pages, we'll be happy to oblige. Simply contact us directly!
