Installing the Vector ODBC Driver for 32-bit Applications
If you will be using the Vector database from a 32-bit ODBC application, you will need the 32-bit ODBC drivers installed. Here are the steps to downloading and installing these drivers. (Written 09/17/2015)
Configuring the Vector ODBC Driver
With the ODBC drivers installed, you still need to configure them to connect to your Vector database. This paper explains exactly how to do this. (Written 09/17/2015).
Configuring AAP Database Sources
You will need to configure the Actian Dataflow (KNIME) environment to see your PSQL databases. (I *really* wish they would make this work by default.) This paper explains how to configure KNIME for PSQL and how to create new databases that can be used within the Actian Dataflow environment. (Updated 09/23/2015)
Creating a Simple AAP Data Migration
One of the primary reasons for using the AAP/Vector environment is the high-speed reporting engine. In order to use this engine, though, you have to first migrate your data over to the Vector instance you have created. This paper shows you how to create a very simple Dataflow project to migrate all data from two simple tables in your PSQL database directly to a Vector instance. This is the simplest case and does not include any data filtering, manipulation or translation. (Updated 09/23/2015)
Comparing Queries: Vector versus PSQL
When you have your data in the Vector database, you will want to directly compare the performance of this system with your other systems. This paper explains how to compare your database engines using our SQLExec utility. (Updated 09/24/2015)
